Is Driver's Ed Required in Alaska?

Nope. Alaska has no driver’s ed requirement on the books. You’re free to learn entirely through supervised practice with a parent or guardian.

What Alaska does require

No driver’s ed, but you still need 40 supervised driving hours (10 at night) to qualify for your license. A parent or guardian (age 21+) must be in the car for every session. You can start logging hours at age 14.
